Sangria: The Version That Doesn't Taste Like Fruit Punch

Made with actual wine, actual fruit, and the patience to let it sit overnight. The overnight rest is not optional.

What You Need (serves 6-8)

  • 1 bottle dry Spanish red wine — Garnacha or Tempranillo
  • 2 oz brandy or cognac
  • 1 oz triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1 oz simple syrup — adjust to taste
  • 1 orange, 1 lemon, 1 lime — all sliced
  • 6 oz fresh orange juice
  • Club soda to top when serving

Method

  1. Combine wine, brandy, triple sec, syrup, and citrus slices in a large pitcher.
  2. Stir to combine and refrigerate for at least 4 hours — overnight is significantly better.
  3. When ready to serve, pour over ice in individual glasses.
  4. Top each glass with a splash of club soda.
  5. Garnish with fresh citrus from the pitcher.

Liquor Depot Pick

The wine doesn't need to be expensive — it needs to be dry and drinkable on its own. We can recommend a good-value Spanish red that works perfectly here. Ask at any of our six locations.
